If you are interested in more of a ramble than a gentle stroll you might want to try the 13 kilometre Gorges de Colombières walk. The path is rugged and parts are much more demanding than the easy broad track of the Gorges d’Héric.
Far fewer people attempt it, but for keen ramblers it is a very rewarding walk. The climb is tough: 400 metres ascent in less than an hour, but the path is shaded all the way by chestnut trees and the sound of the stream below (the Arles) is your constant companion. There are plenty of suitable places for a picnic on the way and if you fancy a dip in the stream to cool down there is an excellent spot for a swim at about 680 metres.
The path is clearly marked with yellow way markers.
Distance : 13km
